How much do glasses cost at CBTR Opticians? The cost of glasses at CBTR Opticians varies depending on the frame selected and individual prescription needs. You can find a rough guideline below. Our specialty lies in offering high-quality, handmade frames from independent suppliers, setting us apart from mass-produced, mainstream "designer" brands you see all over the high street. As a result, our frames typically start at £200, with the most common price point being around £400. For those seeking more exclusive or luxury options, we have a range of choices at higher price tiers as well. When it comes to lenses, we only offer the highest quality available to ensure optimal vision for our clients. Furthermore, our lenses are manufactured in the UK. Our qualified dispensing optician, Terri, provides tailored recommendations based on your preferences and prescription. For single vision glasses, our lenses start at £230 and go up to £500, while varifocals range from £475 to £800. We understand that these prices may exceed what some have spent at other opticians. However, our clients value the clarity and comfort our glasses provide, considering them a worthwhile investment. Many individuals have expressed satisfaction with their new eyewear after being disappointed elsewhere, emphasizing the importance of investing in what essentially becomes a defining accessory - often the first thing people see! For those still uncertain about their choices, we invite you for a complimentary eyewear styling consultation. There's no obligation, and it's an opportunity to explore the various options available to you. Even if CBTR Opticians isn't your ultimate choice, our consultations provide practical advice to aid your decision-making process. We believe in providing flexibility and convenience. We provide the option to spread payments over three to six months at no extra cost. This allows you to invest in the glasses that best suit your needs without compromise or delay. We are confident we'll help you find the perfect eyewear solution. Visit us and experience the difference at CBTR Opticians.

Is there parking?Parking is free on the street outside the practice but can sometimes be tricky to find. But don't panic if you can't find any - there is a pay and display car park just a short walk from us - the entrance of which lies between Browns and Tesco Express. If you bring proof of purchase of your parking ticket with you (a photo on your phone is fine), we'll be happy to deduct the parking fee from the price of your examination.

Can I bring my children?Of course! Your children are always welcome with you in the consulting room, or we'd be delighted to make them a drink if they'd rather wait with Terri in the front shop area. We also offer extensive children's eye examinations including Optomap technology, and offer Family Memberships to give you peace of mind your loved ones' eyes are getting the care they deserve.

How long is my appointment? We would recommend allowing 2 hours total. We allocate 60 minutes for your eye examination with Hayley, followed by time booked for your eyewear styling consultation with Terri. 2 hours allows time for a thorough examination as well as a relaxed styling consultation with a drink of your choice ☕️🥂

Are you dog friendly?Absolutely! Your furry friends are welcome in all non-clinical areas (just not in the consulting room, for sanitary reasons). We even have dog biscuits for your pooch! 🐶

What makes a CBTR Opticians eye test different? Our eyes are one of the most important things we own, which is why we believe everyone should have a comprehensive eye health examination, not a simple ‘sight test'. We provide an expert eye examination to all our clients, with leading edge technology and all tests performed by our qualified Optometrist - we will never leave your eye health in the hands of an unqualified team member! Our significant investment in hospital-grade equipment allows us to detect some eye diseases up to 8 years earlier than traditional methods. Your eyes and sight are precious, don't compromise. Our eye examinations are scheduled for 60 minutes with our Optometrist and includes enhanced retinal 3D-scanning with OCT and widefield Optomap retinal imaging alongside anterior eye examination with our digital slit-lamp and eye pressure using iCare tonometry (which replaces the ‘puff-test’). Our Optometrist will personally conduct all the tests, scans and procedures, so you can rest assured that your eyes and sight are in safe hands. This personal and professional service allows us to give you the very best clinical care that you deserve.

Do you offer NHS appointments? We are delighted to see all clients, from 1 to 101 (and beyond if you're lucky enough to get there!). However, we do not offer "free" NHS eye examinations. AT CBTR we believe everyone deserves the very best eyecare possible, which is why we offer 60 minute examinations including OCT & Optomap eye scanning. Unfortunately, this is not available on the NHS. We do have great 'CBTR Always' memberships for individuals and families to cover the cost of all examinations (and great discounts, too!).
